God does NOT have a destructive side, only love, grace, mercy & forgiveness. GOD IS LOVE DOES GOD'S AGAPE LOVE HAVE A TOUGH SIDE ?? IS IT IN GOD'S CHARACTER TO DESTROY SIN AND SINNERS ?? WHO CASTS SATAN & HIS EX-ANGEL DEMONS INTO THE LAKE OF FIRE ? The 6th commandment says "Thou shalt not kill". How must the word "kill" be defined so that God does not break His own commandment ? Psalm 89:34 says "My covenant I will not break, nor alter the thing that has gone out of my lips." Also, by studying the usage of the verb "cast" in the Bible, can we learn who carries out the final destruction of Satan and his demons, since no scriptural wording anywhere indicates that they throw themselves in the lake of fire ? We can get complete and unconflicting scriptural support by defining "kill" as follows: " Premeditated murder by a person using his or her own standard of morality to prompt fatal motivations to destroy another human, an unlawful act." Only God has the power to forgive sins. Also, only God can render impartial judgment over life and death, using His own law as the absolute standard. God can take the lives of sinners any time He renders such an act is called for. This He has and will do. Two of His judgments are coming, one for the righteous, one for the wicked. Using the above definition of "kill", God is not violating His own commandment when He destroys only sin and sinners, never the righteous. God's people, if asked by God, for example to take the lives of pagan inhabitants of promised land, are ordered by God to do so in line with God's standard of law. By the above definition, this is not "killing", as these acts do not break the 6th commandment. God's people are not acting on the basis of their own standard of judgment and ethics, but on the basis of God's law as an absolute standard. John 8:44 says " The lusts of the devil ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning. He is a liar, and the father of it." At the bottom of it all, Satan is a murderer, a killer, and the accuser and promoter of it. Satan is the source of motivated indiscriminate killing by unauthorized humans breaking the 6th commandment. Most Protestants believe that it is not in God's loving character to destroy lives, even of sinners. Most believe that we should accept all our fellow humans, including homosexuals, criminals, illegal aliens, etc. and associate with them no matter what they do to us, our families, or others. Most believe that you should always turn the other cheek, even if family or nation are being fatally attacked or undermined. But, does the Bible, God's word, support this widespread belief ? What do the scriptures tell us on this subject ? Does the popular belief that "God will not destroy" go against the Bible? Let's look at what God told Moses amd Joshua regarding going in and taking over the promised land, Canaan. JOSHUA 6:2,17,21 ; 7:12 "And the Lord said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the city shall be accursed, even it and all that are therein. Only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and those with her in her house." "And they utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, young and old, and ox and sheep, and ass, with the edge of the sword. And the Lord said unto Joshua, neither will I be with you any more, except ye destroy the accursed from among you." Now let's go back to the 6th commandment "Thou shalt not kill". All through the Old and New Testaments we are told that God will either remove His protection from sinners to allow Satan and his demons to do damage, or will directly destroy wicked sinners, or command His people to do so. But neither He nor His people are breaking the 6th commandment using the above stated definition.
